Terms of use
Last updated October 29, 2026
Couch VR Games (couchvr.games) is run by Melshapps LLC in Utah, USA ("we", "us"). By playing or buying, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the games.
The games
- One person plays in a VR headset; everyone else joins free on a phone or other device.
- Some games are free. Others are in a pack you buy once (see Refunds).
- We may update, change or retire games, and the site may sometimes be down. We'll do our best to keep it running.
Buying a pack
- Prices are in US dollars, plus sales tax or VAT where it applies, added at checkout.
- The pack unlocks right away on the headset you buy it for. Nothing is shipped.
- A purchase unlocks the pack on one headset. You can move it to a new headset with "Restore" (the old one locks). For two headsets, buy it twice.
- It's a license to play, not ownership of the games. Please don't share, resell or try to get around the lock.
- Payments are handled by Stripe and sold through Link (Stripe's checkout), whose own terms also apply to the payment. Your card statement will say LINK.COM* COUCH VR GAMES.
- If you buy, you must be an adult, or have a parent's or guardian's permission.
Play safely
- Clear a play space of at least 2 × 2 m (about 7 × 7 ft) with nothing to hit or trip on, keep people and pets out of it, and keep your headset's boundary turned on.
- Follow your headset maker's safety and age guidance (Meta Quest is for ages 10 and up). Adults should supervise kids.
- If you've had seizures or are sensitive to flashing lights, check with a doctor before playing.
- Take breaks. Stop if you feel sick, dizzy or uncomfortable.
- Phone players: watch where you're going and keep away from the headset player's swinging arms.
Be decent
Don't use offensive nicknames, cheat, attack the site, or use it for anything illegal. We can remove players or block access if you do.
The fine print
- If you're under 18, a parent or guardian agrees to these terms for you.
- THE GAMES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. You play at your own risk, and as far as the law allows, we're not responsible for injuries or damage from playing.
- As far as the law allows, our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months.
- Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
- These terms are governed by the laws of Utah, USA.
- We may update these terms; the date above shows when. Continuing to play means you accept the update. If we change the terms for buying, we'll email buyers.
- Meta and Meta Quest are trademarks of Meta Platforms, Inc. We're not affiliated with or endorsed by Meta.
Privacy

Short version: no accounts, no ads, no tracking. We keep only what we need to run the games and the shop.
What we keep
- A device ID. One cookie with a random number, set on every device that visits. It only matters on a headset that buys the pack: it's how we know which headset to unlock. It isn't linked to who you are unless you buy.
- If you buy: your email address, what you bought, when, and which headset it's unlocked on. Link (the checkout) also collects your name and billing address to work out tax. We use your email for restore codes and to help with your purchase (support, refunds, disputes). No marketing emails.
- Nicknames: phone players can type a nickname. Other players see it during the game, and we don't keep it: it isn't saved on our servers or in our logs. Please don't use your full real name.
- Saved on your own device: your nickname and last room code (so you don't retype them). You can clear them in your browser.
How long we keep it
- Purchase records: as long as you might want to restore your pack, and as long as tax rules require.
- Restore codes: 10 minutes.
- Server logs (technical records of games starting and ending, with no names or emails): deleted after 30 days.
What we don't do
- We never see or store your card details. Stripe and Link handle payments; see their privacy policies.
- We don't sell your information, show ads, or use analytics or tracking cookies. Since we don't track you, "Do Not Track" browser settings don't change anything.
Who helps us
Stripe and Link (payments, receipts and tax), Resend (sending restore codes), Cloudflare (keeping the site fast and safe, and forwarding our email) and our hosting provider process data for us, only to run the service.
Kids
Phone players are often kids. We don't ask kids for personal information: a phone player only types a nickname, which we don't keep, and buying is for adults. Parents: email us and we'll delete anything related to your child.
Outside the US
Our servers are in the United States. We use your information to provide the games and the shop you asked for, and to keep the site safe. If you live in the EU or UK, you can also contact your local data protection authority.
Your choices
Email us to see, correct or delete what we have about you. We'll act on requests about a purchase only when they come from the email used to buy. Deleting your purchase record means we can no longer restore it for you.
